Step 6

Entirely Willing

Aligning our will with God’s will to cast out defects.

Am I now entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character?

We are ready for this step “if we can answer to our satisfaction” regarding the work done in Step 5.

Action in Meditation

Step 6 is not passive. “In meditation, we ask God what we should do about each specific matter.”

We begin to stop what we “have admitted are objectionable.” For example, if we cannot say something nice, we practice "biting our tongue".

“We claim spiritual progress rather than spiritual perfection.” (Pg.60, L10)

"There often seems no way of entirely getting rid of self without His aid." (Pg.62, L18)
